Fourth of July Hometown Parade |
Looking for Fourth of July fun? We invite all local businesses, organization & community members to participate in our annual parade. Build a float, decorate a car or simply walk/ride your bike!
SPECTATORS: The parade route begins & ends at the Conference Center parking lot, after traveling the short loop around Town Square. Some of the best seats for parade viewing can be found on the Town Square lawn.
Kids and families hoping to walk or bike in the parade meet us at Packard Field at 10 am on Wednesday (participants must sign-in with staff on Packard Field no later than 10:45 am). We'll have plenty of decorations to help you get your bike or scooter all tricked out for the parade.
(PARENTS: Please accompany your child to Packard Field. All walking/biking participants are required to sign-in with staff prior the start of the parade & must sign-out with us at the end of the parade, in the Conference Center parking lot. Once the parade has begun, all participants are required to complete the route.)
Summer Day Campers will be participating in our parade, chaperoned by their camp counselors. So, if you're coming to camp, you're already set to participate in the day's events; no additional action is necessary. Campers will return to the Recreation Department after the parade, for an all-camp picnic & regular dismissal at 4 pm.
If you'd like to enter a float or any decorated, motor-powered vehicle, please call us at (603) 236-4695. Floats will begin staging at the Conference Center parking lot, promptly at 10 am. Those entering floats into the parade will compete for the Spirit Cup; floats will be judged as they pass Town Square. Look your best & show your spirit ~ you could be this year's crowd favorite!
Corcoran Pond Campfire ~ Wednesday, July 4, 7 pm - 9 pm: Join us at Corcoran Pond Beach for a campfire before the BIG fireworks display, scheduled to begin at 9:30 pm! We'll be selling s'mores & patriotic glow necklaces for a nominal fee (proceeds benefit the Recreation Department).
Don't forget to check back soon for more info on upcoming events with the Recreation Department.
