This past weekend we at the Waterville Valley Recreation Department held held the annual Eggstravaganza consisting of multiple events and chances for families and friends to come out and enjoy the amazing weekend. The weekend started with an awesome Easter basket decoration. With laughs and fun it was a sure hit with everybody. Next on the list was Egg coloring, which is always a fond childhood memory in my mind when I think of Easter. With plenty of eggs and buckets of dye, we couldn't tell who was laughing more, the kids or the parents. The last but certainly not the least of our events was the Egg Drop Challenge. Taking place right before the Eggstravaganza, the Egg Drop was what I would consider a success. The Event took place right in the heart of WV at Town Square. The generous donation of the tower in Town Square by the Town Square employees allowed a perfect place to drop the crafted egg protection devices. An afternoon filled with sun, smiles, and eggs smashing on the brick floor of Town Square, how else would you want to spend a beautiful afternoon in WV? A shout out to Keith, Katie, Liz,Tom and the rest of the Rec. Department staff for making the event as enjoyable as it was. The way the Rec ran it was perfect, with multiple categories to win in and just time to spend outside with family and friends, it was truly extraordinary.

Easter Sunday could not have been more beautiful. The rising sun quickly warmed the air,and by 9 am, the Easter Bunny had left more than 1,000 eggs in the schoolyard for the girls and boys living in and visiting Waterville Valley. The Easter Bunny had a great time meeting with the children and families, and even enjoyed the opportunity to display some great athletic feats, including half-court basketball shots & receiving punts in the gym. After the hunt, the bunny hopped over to the Coyote Grill for a meet & greet during an incredible brunch! Special thank you to the Easter Bunny & Dreams & Visions, Toad Hall Toys, & The BookMonger in Town Square, for providing additional “golden egg” prizes.
